ABOUT Teton County Foundation for Public Health

DONOR-FOSTERED GROWTH

Since 2014, private donors have fostered the growth of sexual and reproductive health services at Teton County Health Department. The Sexual & Reproductive Health Services Clinic is widely known as a reliably accessible place where our community members can seek the support they need. Clients know that they will receive confidential, high-quality services from skilled practitioners who truly care for them. For a decade, participation as a government entity through Teton County in the Old Bill's Fun Run sponsored by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole garnered nearly $500,000.00 in contributions to help Teton County Family Planning (now Sexual & Reproductive Health Services) stay true to its mission.

A NEW NONPROFIT

Several years ago,  some of our donors – many of whom continue to contribute to this day! -- suggested that we create a foundation to manage and distribute gifted monies. We took that advice to heart! As of January 1, 2025 a new nonprofit -- Teton County Foundation for Public Health -- officially launched to address public and community health needs in our community that may not be met by government funds. The Sexual & Reproductive HealthServices Clinic at Teton County Health Department remains a primary beneficiary of Old Bill’s funds and other resources will be sought for other related programs and projects throughout the year. NOTE: Teton County Foundation for Public Health will replace Teton County Health Department Sexual & Reproductive Health Services as the entity that will reach out to the community during the 2025 Old Bill’s Giving Season.

EVOLVING

Going forward, this nonprofit foundation, abbreviated as TCFPH, will have the ability to investigate a variety of funding opportunities to support an exceptional public health system in our community. We hope to support more community health initiatives for people along the entire age continuum. This is particularly important as as accessibility to such services becomes increasingly difficult for everyone, especially those who live in rural areas such as ours.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The generous contributions received from the 2024 Old Bill's Fun Run set the bar high for TCFPH's initial start-up goal. We will work diligently to raise at least $100,000 during our first year of operation to continue the essential efforts of the Sexual & Reproductive Health Services team at Teton County Health Department. Any additional funds will be invested, as we move forward to consider how financial support can be provided for other services, programs, and projects that help to optimize health in the Teton County community.
